Psychiatric nurses specialize in the psychological and physical care of patients with mental disorders or behavioral issues. They assess mental health needs, develop care plans, and implement and evaluate interventions. These nurses work with individuals of all ages experiencing conditions such as schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and suicidal tendencies. They provide psychological therapies, establish therapeutic alliances, manage challenging behaviors, and administer psychiatric medications.
