Intensive and Critical Care Nursing focuses on delivering high-quality care to patients who are critically ill, have severe injuries, undergone major surgeries, or face life-threatening conditions. Critical care nurses manage patients requiring specialized interventions such as endotracheal intubation, titratable vasoactive intravenous medications, or mechanical ventilation. These nurses work across various settings, including general intensive care units, surgical intensive care units, medical intensive care units, cardiothoracic intensive care units, trauma intensive care units, coronary care units, burn units, pediatric units, and trauma center emergency departments.
