Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing

Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing

Perinatal nursing, also known as obstetrical nursing, provides care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Obstetrical nurses assist with prenatal testing, manage complications, and support patients during delivery. They oversee postoperative care, perform stress tests, and monitor cardiac and vascular health in surgical settings. Gynecology nursing focuses on disorders of the female reproductive system, including the uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries, and vagina, addressing a wide range of women’s health issues.
